COVID-19 Update

Wow 2020 continues to throw us curveballs! When we last wrote we were planning our return to play only to be hit withStage 3 Restrictions which quickly escalated into Stage 4 Lockdown and with that any immediate return to netball squashed again. We hope that this finds you all staying well during these very difficult times. It has been such a trying year for our sport and we are all missing our netball.

Whitehorse Netball remain optimistic that they will be able to return in some form in 2020 and like us all hope that Stage 4 restrictions end in the middle of September as reported.

Netball Victoria Membership Reimbursement Policy

By now you should have received an email from Netball Victoria about their membership reimbursements policy:

https://whitehorsenetball.org.au/whitehorse-netball-supports-netball-victoria-affiliate-pledge/

https://whitehorsenetball.org.au/netball-victoria-releases-membership-reimbursement-policy/

Essentially Netball Victoria members have 2 options:

  • To remain a member and pledge their 2020 membership to Netball Victoria with the money being invested back into netball; or

  • To apply for a 50% reimbursement of their membership fee

As a Club we are encouraging our players to, where possible, pledge their membership fee back to the sport. However, we understand that this is simply not an option for many families at this time. It is important to note that players have until the end of October to claim their reimbursement.

If a player seeks a PARTIAL (50%) reimbursement from Netball Victoria they are still eligible to play for the remainder of 2020 and will be covered to do so. Only players who have NOT played at all this year but have paid their Netball Victoria Membership can claim a FULL reimbursement and have their membership cancelled.

Netball Victoria have asked to share a few points with our members to ensure the process is efficient and working for
everyone.

  1. Please make sure you are entering the correct information in the application form – with incorrect information, including bank account details which makes it impossible for them to process the reimbursement.

  2. They have found that some members are requesting a full refund when they have played a fixtured match in 2020 - that application will be adjusted to a partial reimbursement.

  3. They have found a few members that may not have received the initial reimbursement email – please check their spam or junk mail folders. Please let us know if you have not received the email.

  4. Please note that only one reimbursement application needs to be submitted for each member.

There is a frequently asked questions section on the website https://vic.netball.com.au/reimbursements

Club Coaches and Umpires

As the Club pays the Netball Victoria Membership for Coaches and Umpires we will be organising for the reimbursement to be pledged back to Netball Victoria. There is no need for any Club Coach or Umpire to do anything.

Please keep checking your emails and the Club’s Facebook, Instagram and Website for updates.

Looking forward to seeing you back on court soon, Sarah. 
